Warriors on the Water event set for Wednesday

	File photo The Warriors on the Water Fishing Tournament is scheduled to begin Wednesday at SportsUSA, as numerous anglers and sponsors converge on Fort Bragg for an ice-breaker at the club. The fishing tournament will kick off at 7 a.m., Apr. 23 at Jordan Lake.

The 5th Annual Warriors on the Water fishing tournament is set to kick off Wednesday with an ice-breaker at SportsUSA. The event is set to begin at 7 p.m. Warriors on the Water is held annually as a way of saying “thank you” to the men and women in uniform.

Warriors on the Water was created by former combat veterans Hal Abshire, Greg Lahr and Bob Cunningham as a way to thank redeployed servicemembers for their service.

During the event, servicemembers will be paired with experienced bass anglers for an exciting day of lunker bass fishing on Jordan Lake in Raleigh, N.C.

The actual fishing tournament will take place April 23 at Jordan Lake, from 7 a.m., until closing.
