16th MP Bde. PAO Members of the Fort Bragg Special Reaction Team won first and second place in the 4th Security Forces Squadron Building Clear Out Competition held on Seymour Johnson Air Force Base, N.C., May 18.

The competition was part of the Air Force squadron’s celebration of National Police Week, a week which honors police officers who gave their lives in the line of duty. The security forces of Seymour Johnson invited 24 teams from local, state and federal teams to compete in a two-man building clearing scenario.

The participating teams were graded on time, accuracy with simunitions, target discrimination and tactics.

Scoring 91 out of a possible 100 points in the competition was a team comprised of two, Fort Bragg Department of the Army civilian policemen. The first place team far outpaced the field to include their Fort Bragg SRT counterparts placing second with 59 points. The second place team of one DACP and one Soldier was a last minute addition to the competition.

In an e-mail to the commander of the installation SRT, 4th Security Forces Squadron superintendent of logistics and readiness Master Sgt. Kurt D. Black said good tactics and sound decisions were definitely a key to the first place team’s success.
