Break out your college basketball brackets (or depending on how you do, useless scraps of paper) because it’s March Madness. Millions of people try every year to correctly predict the path to the eventual national champion.
After, years of observing shattered brackets after just the first day, I have decided it was time for me to give back.
This is my analysis of the top four teams predicted to potentially cut down the nets and wear the crown after this year’s tournament.
Don’t believe the hype
If you would’ve asked me 15 years ago if the Gonzaga Bulldogs would’ve ever been a number one seed in the NCAA tournament, I might have questioned your sanity. That was 15 years ago and the Bulldogs have traded in their glass slippers for hunting boots.
Every team the Bulldogs face will be favored to win. It’s different when you are the hunted instead of the hunter. The Bulldogs will get every opponents best shot, and that’s enough to convince me this team should keep the buses running.
The Indiana Hoosiers are the truth. This team has size, speed and talent. Any team led by Cody Zeller has a chance to cut down the nets in Georgia. With only a great mixture of youth and experience, the Hoosiers are the favorites to be the last team standing. Unlike Gonzaga, the Hoosiers have been tested and I fully expect this team to be one vying for a championship.z
The Duke Blue Devils are an interesting team. Before the return of Ryan “White Falcon” Kelly, the Blue Devils were widely considered destined to make an early exit from the tournament.
I wouldn’t bet the house on my picks. But, they call it March Madness because the brackets are designed to drive all fans a little batty.
Good luck and enjoy the ride.
