Public affairs provides training, unlimited professional opportunities

10th PCH

Are you a self-motivated professional with strong communications skills? Do you desire a change of pace but want to continue your Army experience? Do you believe in our communities’ need to be kept informed?

Fort Bragg and the 10th Press Camp Headquarters can help.

The Army military occupational specialties housed under the public affairs branch remain critically short of personnel. Effective Oct. 1, Army Public Affairs will add an in-service recruiting effort to this to help offset that shortage.

The 10th PCH has been helping to fill this service need, by providing local support and preparing those professional Soldiers who desire to enter this exciting and competitive field through on-the-job training since last fall.

Earlier this year, Fort Bragg and local tenant PA units hosted the first in a series of Army Public Affairs Center site visits intended to inform leaders and recruiting teams of this major change. To date, that initial effort has already inspired interest and action.

“Early successes include an ISR mission to Fort Bragg, in December that attracted five new confirmed Army broadcasters as well as a number of interested potential recruits,” wrote Col. Joseph Richard, APAC director, in his monthly branch letter.

If you are a Soldier interested in changing your career field, consider the possibilities as a print or broadcast journalist. If you are a commander or first sergeant who has talented Soldiers and need some internal support, we can train your designated unit PA representatives to help you fulfill your command information requirements.

Located in Building 2-1138, the Wolfpack is a rapidly-deployable public affairs unit, which supports the combatant commander’s full spectrum public affairs operational requirements. In short, the PCH is a platoon sized element with a theater mission. While in garrison, the PCH’s primary focus is to provide public affairs training to other units and personnel and prepare PA forces in support of Forces Command missions. Beginning last year, the Wolfpack added “support Army through recruitment and on the job training.”
