The 1st Special Forces Command held its second annual 5K and 10K at Smith Lake Recreation Area, Friday. According to the organization, the event promoted esprit de corps for the Families and friends of 1st SFC.

Participants received a T-shirt, and enjoyed a chili cook off, food, live music, a rock climbing wall, corn hole and other free activities for the entire Family.

The race was USA Track and Field certified, and led runners through the rolling hills of Smith Lake Recreation Area. The course was a 5K, so 10K participants ran a second loop to complete their race.

Over 500 runners participated in the two races this year, according to the results website. The overall winner of the 5K was Bo Rogers, with a time of 20:30.7. The female winner of the 5K was Yuko Whitestone, with a time of 22:57.3.

The overall winner of the 10K was Peter Koskey, with a time of 34:55.2. Koskey recently placed first in the All-American Half Marathon as well. The female winner of the 10K was Tana Kornachuk, with a time of 39:51.8.
