With the sun shining and a cool breeze in the air, children, adults, and dogs arrived at Hedrick Stadium, Apr. 27 to participate in the Fort Bragg 5k run/walk.
The monthly race encourages friends, Families, and the Fort Bragg community to participate in a fun, organized event of fitness.
“I enjoy running with friends and Family who enjoy having a healthy lifestyle and being active,” said Stormie Tippit, wife of Sgt. Jacob Tippit, 2nd Battalion, 508th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne Division.
“Even though I was only back from the field for 12 hours, it was well worth getting up for the early morning run,” said Jacob.
“My husband and I try to make sure our girls stay active as well. We had our youngest one in a stroller and the four-year-old running with us. It was a very proud parent moment when Izzi crossed the finish line with me,” said Stormie.
“It’s important to me to have fun and be active with my Family,” added Jacob.
“Mom, I’m tired, but I beat Daddy! Yes!” said Izzi Tippit, 4, child of Jacob and Stormie Tippit.
The next free, Fort Bragg 5k run/walk will be May 18 at 8 a.m., and is open to military and government identification card holders and Family members. No registration is required, and strollers and dogs are welcome.
