Get the clubs out: The next Commanding Generalís Pay Day Golf Scramble is scheduled for June 2, at Ryder Golf Course. Registration is at 10:30 a.m. for a noon shotgun start with a meal following the tournament. The event is open to the public and is an 18-hole scramble. A tie for the championship will be settled by a scorecard playoff beginning with the #1 handicap hole. Entry fee is $140 per team or $35 per person, and fees include green and cart fees, range balls before tournament, meal with trimmings and refreshments, as well as prizes and awards ceremony. Fort Bragg Run, Honor, Remember 5K: During the monthly Fort Bragg 5K on Saturday, the community and Families of our fallen Soldiers, Sailors, Marines and Airmen are invited to attend and celebrate the lives, sacrifices and memories of those who gave the ultimate sacrifice. Hedrick Stadium will have a display of approximately 7,000 boots,each with a tag and photo of a fallen service member. Personalized race bibs are available at Survivor Outreach Services and Leisure Travel Services. The pre-event ceremony starts at 7:45 a.m. and the race kicks off at 8 a.m.

Derby Run: The Derby Run is in memory of Justin Lopes, a graduate of Terry Sanford High School who passed away on July 15, 2014. The second annual event starts at Terry Sanford High School and continues through the scenic Haymount area, Saturday. The Color Run: Get ready to dream in color, May 27, at the Crown Complex. For the first time, 5K race participants will be transported through a fog-filled Dream Tunnel into a course with more music than ever before. Color runners will feel on top of the world in the brand-new Foam Zone as they run through dreamy colored foam. Along the course, participants can paint their aspirations on the Dream Wall, snap whimsical photos with giant unicorns, and get the ultimate color inspiration as they party with friends at the Finish Festival amidst vibrant bursts of color throws. Run For The Legend: The Airborne and Special Operations Museum Foundation will hold its tenth annual 5K/10K Run for the Legend June 3, at 8 a.m. All donations and proceeds from the event support the museumís operational and educational programs and activities. The USA Track and Field-certified course begins and ends on the Hay Street side of the museum. Online registration is available through, which will also accept donations. Registration is also available at the museum. Participants may turn in their forms and entry fee in the museum gift shop, or mail them to the museum. Registration is $20 through June 2. Registration is $25 the day of the race. Strollers, wagons, and well behaved, leashed dogs are permitted, but will be asked to start in the back.

Krispy Kreme Challenge: The challenge is to run 2.5 miles through Historic Downtown Fayetteville from Festival Park, eat a dozen Krispy Kreme doughnuts, then complete the final 2.5 miles in Festival Park. The race begins at 8 a.m. inside Festival Park. Packet pick-up is June 16 from 3 to 7 p.m. at The Fayetteville Dream Center across the street, or at 7 a.m. on race day, June 17.
