Junior Enlisted Golf Outing: Join the Fort Bragg Armed Services YMCA on Thursday and Friday for a day of golf and food at Gates Four Golf and Country Club in Fayetteville. This event provides wounded Soldiers, children of fallen Soldiers and Soldiers the opportunity to enjoy a day of golf with members of our community and to give the community an opportunity to thank those who have sacrificed their freedoms to defend ours. Get the clubs out: The next Commanding General’s Pay Day Golf Scramble is scheduled for Friday, at Ryder Golf Course. Registration is at 10:30 a.m. for a noon shotgun start with a meal following the tournament. The event is open to the public and is an 18-hole scramble. A tie for the championship will be settled by a scorecard playoff beginning with the #1 handicap hole. Entry fee is $140 per team or $35 per person, and fees include green and cart fees, range balls before tournament, meal with trimmings and refreshments, as well as prizes and awards ceremony. Recreational Skeet and Trap League: The league meets for eight weeks on Sundays, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The spring league starts Sunday and runs through May 28. Trophies are awarded for highest overall female/male shooter and most improved shooter. A potluck luncheon will be held after each league. Shotgun rental, ammunition, and ear protection is for sale at the clubhouse, or shooters can bring their own. Eye and ear protection is mandatory. The cost for Department of Defense ID cardholders, members and their guests is $20. The cost for the general public is $25.
Dodgeball Tournament: Play will begin at 6 p.m. Friday, and at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday. The tournament will be held at Ritz-Epps Physical Fitness Center. This event is open to military/government ID card holders ages 18 years and older. Entry deadline is Wednesday. 1st Special Forces Command 5K and 10K Race: The second annual race will be held at Smith Lake Recreation Area Friday at 8:30 a.m. Registration is open to the public and automatically enters participants into a drawing for door prizes. Registration will be open before the event, from 7 to 8 a.m. This is a purpose-driven event to promote “Esprit De Corps” for the Soldiers, Families and civilians of 1st SFC. Adult Easter Egg Hunt Pub Run: Come join Fleet Feet Sports Runners Spot in Haymount on Friday, at 6:30 p.m. for a 2-mile pub run. Participants will have the opportunity to hunt for prize-filled Easter eggs along the route.
Combat Mud Run: Run, jump, and crawl through obstacles and mud, April 15, at 8 a.m. This is a great course for both the seasoned mud runner and the newbie. Nestled in the heart of the National Guard Armory at the Wilmington International Airport in Wilmington, North Carolina, this course is not only used for the Combat Mud Run, but has been used by the military for training.
