Filmmaking workshop offered:
The workshop will be led by author/filmmaker Benjamin Patton and features hands-on filmmaking supervised by skilled professional filmmakers using our HD video cameras and Apple laptops. Background on the program can be found at pattonveteransproject.org.
Veterans being treated at the Warrior Transition Battalion, cadre, and Soldiers from other units on post, as well as veterans living locally are welcome.
No prior filmmaking experience is required, all equipment is provided, and the workshop is free for all participants. The next workshop is Dec. 9 through 13, the morning program runs from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and the afternoon program runs from 1:30 to 5 p.m., Soldier Family Assistance Center Conference Room, Building 4-2133. As of Nov. 15, the RAPIDGate system used to verify contractors and routine visitors to Fort Bragg, is no longer be accepted as a form of identification to gain access to Fort Bragg’s access control points. Everyone possessing a current RAPIDGate Pass is required to go to the All-American Visitor Center to exchange their current valid RAPIDGate Pass for an automated installation entry card at no cost. Casualty assistance training:
The Fort Bragg casualty assistance officer and casualty notification officer training schedule for the 1st quarter fiscal year 2014 is as follow: Class number 04-14: Dec. 3 to 5.
To attend this training personnel must be officer (captain or above), warrant officer (chief warrant 2 or above) or enlisted (sergeant first class or above). Personnel are slotted on a first-come, first-serve basis. All major commands must provide and attendance roster to Donell Bowser (Casualty Assistance Center) seven working days prior to class start date. All Soldiers will report to Building 4-2843 (Soldier Support Center), Normandy Drive, Room B-A-1 (McArthur Lake Classroom). In-processing will start at 8:30 a.m. Soldiers must be present through entire training and pass two written test to received CNO/CAO certification.
