Unit-level softball

The Fort Bragg Sports program is offering a unit-level softball program through Aug. 8, at various physical fitness center fields.

Play will take place Mondays to Thursdays.

Walk/run

The Fort Bragg 5K Walk/Run will take place, June 29, at 8 a.m., at Hedrick Stadium.

It is open to all military/government ID card holders and their Family members, with no registration required.

Prizes will be given away, and wellness and healthy living vendors will be on site.

Golf tournament

Stryker Golf Course will hold its 2013 U.S. Open Pro-Am Golf Tournament, June 15.

Tee times start at 7:30 a.m. Entry fee is $10, plus applicable player green and cart fees.

Hockey assessments

Cape Fear Youth Fire Antz Fire Hockey Association will hold player assessments/selection, June 15, at Cleland Ice Rink.

Assessments will be done at different times for various ages, including youth born 1995 to 2004.

Cost is $45. Coaches will notify parents of team selections by June 19. Once notified, parents are expected to make a $250 non-refundable deposit for the fall team.

Tennis clinics

The Blue Sky Foundation will bring its T3 program (Thanking our Troops through Tennis) program to the Fort Bragg Tennis Club.

In a series of free clinics, military ID cardholders of all ages and abilities are welcome to learn all aspects of tennis from certified teaching professionals.

Deadline to sign up is June 27, 5 p.m.

The following clinics are scheduled for July 2:

9 to 10 a.m., youth under 10 years of age
  10 to 11 a.m., youth older than 10
  11 a.m. to noon, adults
  1 to 2 p.m., adults
  2 to 3 p.m., a pro-exhibition, autograph/photo session
