Due to recent changes in how N.C. Department of Transportation funding is allocated, citizens now have a greater say in how their highway tax dollars are spent locally. Citizens will have an opportunity on Monday, to influence the NCDOT decision- making process and help determine what transportation projects will be funded in the coming years.
NCDOT will be hosting a public meeting to hear from residents on Monday, from 4 to 7 p.m., at the Hope Mills Recreation Center, 5776 Rockfish Road in Hope Mills, N.C.
Residents can share their thoughts and opinions on which road projects in our district and region should be a priority for funding — whether it is the section of I-295 from Cliffdale to Raeford roads, improving safety and traffic flow along Raeford Road by installing medians, widening the All-American Freeway to three lanes from Owen Drive to I-295, improving Murchison Road and improving Ramsey Street south of the Country Club Drive intersection.
Residents unable to attend the Monday meeting can also share their opinions by visiting the NCDOT website and filling out a comment form at http://www.ncdot.gov/download/strategictransportationinvestments/STI_Comment_Div6.pdf.
