Commissaries to close early

The Fort Bragg South and North commissaries will close three hours early

June 9, to conduct formal inventory. Both stores will resume normal hours of operation June 10.

Take commissary survey

Whether you shop at your local commissary or not, the Defense Commissary Agency wants to hear from you.

From June 1 through Aug. 1, an online survey will be available on www.commissaries.com. You may participate by clicking on the “take our survey” link or accessing the survey directly at https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/DeCA-Shopping-Survey. The responses will be analyzed and used to improve the commissary for our patrons. The survey takes only eight to 12 minutes to complete.

Road improvements begin June 17

Construction crews will begin work to widen the Gruber and Longstreet roads intersection beginning June 17 through the end of 2013. Improvement work will include resurfacing and traffic signal upgrades at four signalized intersections on Longstreet Road. Some of the work will be performed at off-peak hours, at night and or weekends.

Reserved parking for survivors available

Fort Bragg, along with all Army installations, now have reserved parking for Families of fallen Soldiers.

The reserved parking are located at the North and South commissaries, North and South Post Exchanges, Womack Army Hospital (Reilly Road entrance), Soldier Support Center and Survivor Outreach Services.

Blood drive scheduled

The 3rd Military Information Support Battalion is planning a blood drive, June 21, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., in the MISOC Classroom on Psyop/MISO way.

Scholarship available

The Collision Repair Education Foundation and “Hire Our Heroes” program: 3M is funding special scholarship opportunities for veterans who served after 9/11/01 who want to begin a collision repair career by attending a collision repair community college or college.  The scholarship will pay for tuition and required books/tools.

Reunion planned

The 11th Airborne Division Association will conduct its 70th Anniversary reunion in Fayetteville, Sept. 22 through 26, at the Holiday Inn Bordeaux.
