Fort Bragg launched a new way for community members to get information about what is happening at Fort Bragg through the Community Information Exchange.

In addition to covering new and upcoming events, the meeting also addressed the issues presented by the attending spouses from the Family members of the units they represent.

The inaugural event took place this morning, at the new Family Readiness Group Center off of Hurst Drive.

The exchange will be a monthly meeting attended by the spouses of brigade-level and higher commanders and the spouses of brigade-level and higher command sergeants major.

The garrison commander, various directors and subject matter experts from across the installation participated in the panel to share information on what’s changing at Fort Bragg and provide valuable information about upcoming events, programs and services.

The attending spouses will take the information and the knowledge they gain back to their unit’s Family readiness groups.

“The Community Information Exchange, or CIE, is a great opportunity to communicate with Family members through senior members of Family readiness groups to provide current information about the installation from upcoming activities, to infrastructure to policing and safety, as well as to find out what concerns or suggestions they may have,” said Ray Lacey, director, Fort Bragg Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation.

“We are constantly looking for ways to communicate with all our Soldiers, Families, retirees and civilian employees. The CIE will provide yet another venue to share information with them about the great things we’re doing across the installation,” said Lacey. “We’re able to take advantage of the solid foundation that our Family readiness groups provide to ensure that every Family member is able to learn about what we’re doing here at Fort Bragg.”
