Sports registration: Child, Youth and School Services is now holding registration for the following fall sports for main post and Linden Oaks residents:

• Tackle football, ages 9 to 18

• Volleyball, ages 9 to 18

• Football cheerleading, ages 6 to 18

• Soccer, ages 4 to 18

• Flag football, ages 6 to 8

Tennis for ages 8 to 18 will be open to main post residents only.

Costs vary from $40 to  $65.

Online registration is available at https://webtrac.mwr.army.mil until Aug. 3, or until league capacities are reached.

Registration is also available at the CYSS Registration Office in the Soldier Support Center (Building 4-2843, fourth floor).

Requirements for registration are a sports specific physical, proof of age, legal proof of social security number and documentation of special needs.

Volunteer coaches are needed.

Cleland closing: Cleland Ice  and In-Line Skating Rinks will be closed through late August, for scheduled maintenance to improve ice conditions.

Equipment training: The Soldier Performance Enhancement Program will offer “Train Like a Pro” advanced equipment training, Aug. 8, from noon to 1 p.m., at Frederick Physical Fitness Center.

The training will feature kettlebells, Olympic lifting or total resistance exercise suspension trainers and will be open to ID card holders age 18 and older.

Fishing day: Patriot Hunts has joined Cumberland Farms to offer a Gold Star and Active-Duty Wounded Warriors Fishing Day, Aug. 18, at Cumberland Farms, a private recreation area located about 20 minutes east of Fayetteville.

Participation is limited to the first 25 Families with priority given to the Gold Star Families.

Participants will meet at the Airborne and Special Operations Museum on Bragg Boulevard at 8:30 a.m., in order to caravan to the venue.

Fishing poles are optional and fishing bait will be provided. Lunch will also be provided.
