Sports registration: Child, Youth and School Services is now holding registration for the following fall sports for main post and Linden Oaks residents:

• Tackle football, ages 9 to 18

• Volleyball, ages 9 to 18

• Football cheerleading, ages 6 to 18

•  Soccer, ages 4 to 18

• Flag football, ages 6 to 8

Tennis for ages 8 to 18 will be open to main post residents only.

Costs vary from $40 to  $65.

Online registration is available at until Aug. 3, or until league capacities are reached.

Registration is also available at the CYSS Registration Office in the Soldier Support Center (Building 4-2843, fourth floor).

Requirements for registration are a sports specific physical, proof of age, legal proof of social security number and documentation of special needs.

Volunteer coaches are needed.

Fitness fees: The Directorate of Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation’s Sports and Fitness Department, in lieu of canceling the Fort Bragg group exercise program due to budgetary restraints, has started charging a nominal fee for all group exercise classes in an attempt to off-set the cost of this program.

Group fitness classes will be offered at Towle Courts, Hercules and Dahl fitness centers.  Punch card passes are available for sale at Leisure Travel Services in the Reilly Road Mini Mall.  Ten-class discount passes will cost $25 and 30-class passes $65.  A single class will cost $3. Single class tokens will be available for purchase at the respective fitness center.  Exact change will be required for token purchases.

Cleland closing: Cleland Ice  and In-Line Skating Rinks will be closed through July 29, for scheduled maintenance to improve ice conditions.

Equipment training: The Soldier Performance Enhancement Program will offer “Train Like a Pro” advanced equipment training, July 11 and Aug. 8, from noon to 1 p.m., at Frederick Physical Fitness Center. (Building H-4630, Gruber Road and  Essayons Street).

The training will feature kettlebells, Olympic lifting or total resistance exercise suspension trainers and will be open to ID card holders age 18 and older.
