In an effort to improve accommodations for Fort Bragg customers, both Tucker Indoor Pool and Tolson Pool will close temporarily.
Tucker Indoor Pool will remain closed through Monday while Tolson will close from Tuesday to mid-August for deck resurfacing, said Korynn Drake, interim aquatics director, Directorate of Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation.
The pool initially closed Oct. 29 and is scheduled to reopen today.
Tolson has been slated for a $2 million renovation, Drake said. The renovations will include adding a front entry into the pool and a classroom for first aid instruction or as a location for parties, she said.
Tolson will likely reopen on or about mid-August, she said.
Meanwhile, at Tucker Indoor Pool, water aerobics will continue to be held from 10 to 11 a.m., Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays and wounded warriors will continue to use the facility from 1 to 2 p.m., five days a week. Fort Bragg’s swim teams will also continue to train at the pool.
The renovations are part of Fort Bragg’s efforts to maintain a cost culture that optimizes resources and enables Soldiers and their Families to thrive and enjoy a high quality of life.
