Albritton Middle School celebrated its science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics week activities with a question and answer presentation from Chief Warrant Officer 3 Kyle Antonson, an aviation Soldier, April 24, and the landing of a Blackhawk on school grounds, April 26.

Other STEAM promotion activities included students’ construction of kites and paper airplanes, calculating aircraft speed and distance in mathematics classes and the study of “The Flying Machine,” in English.

STEAM promotes critical thinking across multiple disciplines. The Blackhawk's landing was the culmination of material studied relating to Albritton’s theme of flight this school year, said Laura Hussein, principal.
