Nine confirmands were accepted into membership at Hedrick’s Grove UCC with the confirmation of their baptism on Palm Sunday.
Congratulations to Chase Everhart, Ashlyn Futrell, Ryan Hedrick, Rylee Hodge, Cole Johnson, Carsen Milner, Alexandra Myers, Jackson Seaford and Hailey Swaim on completing this step in their faith journey. Hedrick’s Grove’s annual Easter egg hunt is scheduled at 10 a.m. March 31, rain or shine. Easter sunrise service will begin at 6:30 a.m. followed by breakfast. Easter morning worship will be at 10:45 a.m. Mark your calendars now for the spring barbecued chicken, bake and youth hot dog sales April 21, the Black Lake outing April 22 and the next all you can eat country breakfast at Hedrick’s Grove May 5.
Upcoming joint Lenten events are Maundy Thursday at 7 p.m. March 29 at Hedrick’s Grove UCC and Good Friday services at 7 p.m. March 30 at Mt. Tabor UCC. New Friendship UCC is also participating in these services.

Holly Grove Lutheran will have Maundy Thursday service from 7 to 7:45 p.m. and Good Friday service from 7 to 8 p.m.
Poor man's supper set
Bethany United Methodist Church’s next poor man’s supper will be from 5 to 7 p.m. April 10.
The Bethany UMC Youth group invites you to purchase pine needles from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday . The cost is $4 per bale for pick up or $5 per bale for delivery.
Join the Bethany UMC Youth for a lunch fundraiser April 22 after worship. Hamburger steak, grilled chicken, baked potato, salad, bread, dessert will be served. Donations for the Bethany Youth Group will be accepted for your meal.
Come to Easter, Lent services
Easter services at Mt. Tabor UCC will begin with sunrise at 6:30 a.m. followed by breakfast; Sunday school at 9:45 and morning worship with communion at 10:30. An egg hunt will begin at 6 p.m. Monday with a hamburger and hot dog meal. Isaiah Powers will paint a picture for the kids. The evening will culminate with the basket raffle. See any member of the Mt. Tabor UCC Churchmen’s Fellowship pine needles. The cost is $4.50 per bale delivered or picked up at Todco
Becks Lutheran Church’s Maundy Thursday service will be at 7 p.m. and the Good Friday Tenebrae service will be at 7 p.m. in the sanctuary. The Easter egg hunt with lunch and crafts will be at 11 a.m. Saturday . The Easter vigil will be at 8 p.m. Friday in the sanctuary of First Lutheran Church.
Beck’s Reformed Church’s Maundy Thursday service will be at 7 p.m.
Memorial Evangelical and Reformed Church‘s Maundy Thursday service will be held from 7 to 8 p.m.
School to held April 6
Reminder, April 6 will be a snow make-up day for Davidson County Schools.
Lions club will sell meals
Davis-Townsend Lions Club’s spring barbecued chicken will be from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. April 7 at the den on Turner Road. Plates with half chicken, slaw, potato salad and a roll are $8. Eat in or take out is available. See any Lion for tickets.
Community Resource Fair to be offered
All students with an IEP (Individualized Education Plan) and their families are invited to check out the Community Resource Fair at Davidson County Community College-Main Entrance from 6:30 to 8 p.m. April 12. Don’t miss the opportunity to learn what education, employment, housing, recreation and support resources are available. Refreshments will be served. This event is sponsored by Lexington City, Thomasville City and Davidson County School systems, as well as DCCC and the Arc of Davidson.
Walk-run to highlight epilepsy

New program available through Arc
The Arc of Davidson County is excited to share the news of a new day program for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, operating from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Be on the lookout for an upcoming open house at “Bridges” located at 1900 S. Main St. This new service will add these supports: residential, respite, community living and supports, community networking, supported employment and summer camp. Girl Scouts honored
All Bethany UMC's Girl Scout troops participated in the morning service March 11 to observe Girl Scout Sunday. Bethany UMC has a very strong scouting program with wonderful girls and leaders. The Girl Scouts would also like to take this time to say thank you to Bethany UMC for sponsoring the troops and letting them meet in the building. The Girl Scout cookie sale is complete for another year. Thank you for your support.
