Members of the Linden Oaks community will soon have access to an Army and Air Force Exchange Service Express in their own backyard. The facility, located next to the community clubhouse, will open May 23, said Alex Dewberry, general manager secretary/supervisor, Fort Bragg Exchange, AAFES.
According to Dewberry, plans for the Express have been in the works for over two years.
“The folks in Linden Oaks kept on pushing this issue and we absolutely agreed,” she said.
The facility will have a basic assortment of food and beverages, similar to other Express facilities on the installation. AAFES will bring any item that a customer needs to the facility if it is not available there, explained Dewberry.
She also expressed her appreciation for the support her organization received from the Linden Oaks community.
“We want to thank the Linden Oaks community for supporting us with questions that we had. It was a great partnership from the beginning of building.”
Dewberry said she hopes the new Express makes lives a little easier for Soldiers and their Families.
“We are happy that we can finally provide that service,” she said. “It’s a great location and a lot of hard work has been put into this.”
The Linden Oaks Express will be open Monday through Saturday, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. In the future, officials may adjust hours based on need.
