The Steven A. Cohen Military Family Clinic at Cape Fear Valley will celebrate its public opening Tuesday. The public is invited to come out to the clinic for tours from 2 to 4 p.m.
The Steven A. Cohen Military Family Clinic at Cape Fear is a new collaborative partnership to benefit veterans, regardless of their role while in uniform or their discharge status, and their Families.
The Cape Fear Valley Health System and the Cohen Veterans Network have teamed up to offer a unique medical experience.
“This clinic tears down barriers,” said John Freudenberg, outreach director, Steven A. Cohen Military Family Clinic at Cape Fear Valley.
The people who will provide services to veterans and their Families are all from military backgrounds, and will bring a special understanding to the patients they will serve, said Freudenberg.
The facility will focus on a variety of mental health issues at low to no-cost.
Freudenberg explained that low to no-cost means that the clinic is committed to not allowing cost to be a barrier for any patients seeking medical treatment at the clinic.
