Get the clubs out: The next Commanding General’s Pay Day Golf Scramble is scheduled for Sept. 8, at Ryder Golf Course. Registration is at 10:30 a.m. for a noon shotgun start with a meal following the tournament. The event is open to the public and is an 18-hole scramble. A tie for the championship will be settled by a scorecard playoff beginning with the #1 handicap hole. Entry fee is $140 per team or $35 per person, and fees include green and cart fees, range balls before tournament, meal with trimmings and refreshments, as well as prizes and awards ceremony. Back to School Bowling: Families are invited to Airborne and Dragon Lanes for a fun bowling event, Aug. 19, from 1 to 4 p.m. The cost is $5, and includes a hot dog, 16 ounce soda, one game, shoe rental and backpack with school supplies (while supplies last). The event is open to kids ages 5 to 16. Dollar shoe rental and dollar games will be available for parents and siblings.

Friday Fight Night: Come out for a night of fun and help support Children of the Fallen Project, a group formed to help children of men and women who have paid the ultimate sacrifice. Fort Bragg 5K Walk/Run: The next Fort Bragg 5K is Aug. 26, at Longstreet and Reilly roads, near Hedrick Stadium. The event is free and open to Department of Defense card holders and their guests. 5K Fun Pup Run/Walk: Families can join Fleet Feet Sports Runners Spot in Haymount with their furry friends for a 5K Pup Run, Aug. 26. They will have an alternate one mile route option and a doggy talent show. Naturally Unleashed will provide the talent show winner with a goodie bag. This is a Family and kid-friendly event. USO of NC 5K Bridge Run: Join the USO of North Carolina for the USO of NC 5K Bridge Run in partnership with the Town of Spring Lake, Sept. 16.
