IHG Army Hotels at Fort Bragg supports the Fort Bragg Fisher House in a variety of ways. The hotel raises donations through a number of different events, such as employee “Denim Days,” bake and candy sales and games played with their guests during the weekly barbecue socials. The company exceeds its annual goal of $2,500 each year through the support of IHG Army Hotel guests and staff. According to Virginia Helwig, general manager, IHG Hotels Fort Bragg, the involvement with Fisher House is a source of pride for all hotel team members. She said hotel guests are able to relate to the mission because they often know someone who has been a guest at Fisher House, or have been guests themselves.
The Fisher House Foundation supports a wide network of comfort homes where veterans, wounded in battle and their Families can stay at no cost while a loved one is receiving treatment. The Fort Bragg Fisher House features 11 private guest rooms with their own bathrooms. Common areas in the 10,000-square foot facility include a children’s playroom, a spacious kitchen, a living room, dining room and Family room, as well as a laundry room and patio.
