Get the clubs out: The next Commanding General’s Pay Day Golf Scramble is scheduled for Friday, at Stryker Golf Course. Registration is at 10:30 a.m. for a noon shotgun start with a meal following the tournament. The event is open to the public and is an 18-hole scramble. Get Golf Ready: For golfers, Get Golf Ready is designed to teach everything they’ll need to play golf in just a few lessons. PGA Professionals will show you that there are lots of ways to play by combining fun, friends and fitness. Each session will focus on the various golf skills you will use while playing. In addition to learning the basics, you will be guided onto the golf course to put your skills into action in a casual, friendly setting. No equipment needed. For ages 16 years and older. The next session is Oct. 10 through 26, with sessions Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at Stryker Golf Course.
Powerlifting Competition: This competition is open to Department of Defense ID cardholders, ages 18 years and older. Competition begins at 9 a.m., immediately following a rules brief at 8:45 a.m., Oct. 28. Individual and Team competition conducted for both men and women in an open division. Cost is $10 per person. ONUS Golf Tournament: Old North Utility Services is holding a tournament Nov. 2 at Gates Four Golf and Country Club. Shotgun start time is 9 a.m. Cost for active/retired military to play is $70, contractors or non-government personnel is $85. All proceeds go towards the Fort Bragg Fisher House.

Joint Special Operations 10K: The Joint Special Operations 10K has become a Fort Bragg tradition and will take place this year on Nov. 11. This run is for everyone; military, dependents, civilians, young folks, old folks. They welcome the whole Fort Bragg and surrounding communities to participate in this event. Autumnfest 5k: The Autumnfest 5K Road Race takes place in beautiful downtown Southern Pines, North Carolina, Saturday, at 9 a.m. The race route runs through the historical downtown district and through horse country.
