The Bragg Women’s Rugby Football Club teamed up with the Camp Lejeune Women’s Rugby to play a friendly match against the Savannah Shamrocks in Savannah, Georgia, Saturday. According to their website, the team’s mission is to “grow the game of rugby to the Fort Bragg and Fayetteville community and to enhance the physical fitness, sportsmanship, and sense of community pride of its members.”
All active-duty, retired, Reserve and National Guard service members are eligible to join the team, as well as Department of Defense employees and Family members. BWRFC practices at Ritz-Epps Physical Fitness Center on the pitch next to the gym and softball fields. Practices are held Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
