SKIESUnlimited now offers yoga classes for children aged 1 years old and older.
“We are very, very happy to offer this to the Fort Bragg community,” said Paul Driessen, instructional program specialist, SKIESU.
The classes are typically broken into two sessions: Parent and Me for ages 1 to 5 and School Age for those 6 years and older.
During a recent superheroes-themed session, participants began with a “yoga song,” during which they introduced themselves by jumping, stomping or clapping.
Children also practiced breathing techniques using a “breathing ball,” and flew through the air as Superman by lifting their arms and legs off their yoga mats.
Christina Coronato said her daughter Madelyn Miller, 7, has enjoyed practicing yoga so far.
Those interested in the classes can still register on the Fort Bragg Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation website. Classes are held monthly and consist of four, 45 minute sessions.
