Thanksgiving is not only a national holiday, it is an important tradition for our Army. I believe the custom of our leaders serving our Soldiers on that day is one of the best traditions in our Army — it is an act that truly demonstrates what it means to lead and serve our subordinates.
This is a great opportunity for leaders to reach out and support their fellow Soldiers who might be celebrating Thanksgiving on a battlefield, away from family, friends and home. I count on each one of you to keep yourself and those around you safe, look out for each other and make the right choices.
Thank you for staying vigilant, for your professionalism and unwavering dedication and service to our great nation.
