Yoga in the Garden: Cape Fear Botanical Garden and YMCA of the Sandhills have partnered together for Yoga in the Garden, Wednesday. Grab a yoga mat and rejuvenate at a peaceful yoga session in the beautiful Orangery at the Cape Fear Botanical Garden from 6 to 7 p.m. Improve flexibility, build strength, ease tension and relax through posture and breathing techniques for beginners and experts alike. Spring Lake Outpost River Race: This is a 3-mile kayak race, Saturday Bring your own kayak or one of Spring Lake Outpost’s in an effort to find the fastest time from start to finish. Registration includes an event shirt. There will be multiple heats of competitors vying for the title of Fastest Rower. Each heat will have a winner and will receive a prize. Friday Fight Night: Come out for a night of fun at Sports USA. Anyone can participate, Dec. 15, at 7:30 p.m. Extensive boxing experience is not allowed. This is for fun. Advance tickets available at Sports USA. Open to the public. Cost is $10.
Turkey Shoot: The annual event will be held at the Clay Target Center, Dec. 8 and 9, from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Shotguns only, shells provided, no scopes. There will be turkeys and hams awarded as well as door prize drawings. Shotgun rental and ear protection are for sale at the clubhouse or shooters can bring their own. Winter Bootcamp: Come beat the holiday bulge with a kick-butt workout with trainer Monika from Under Construction Personal Training, Dec. 16, at 9 a.m. She is insured and certified through the National Personal Training Institute. The workout will take place at The Runners Spot in downtown Fayetteville. The cost is $5 per person (cash or PayPal). Dashing through the Glow: Join Riverlights in Wilmington, North Carolina, Saturday, as they bring together the Christmas spirit, Family fun and entertainment. Experience the beautiful views of the Cape Fear River and the new RiverLights community, as well as Christmas lights and decorations throughout the course. Sunday Trail Run: Starting Sunday, the Runner’s Spot will hold a monthly trail run at the Smith Lake Mountain Bike Trail. All levels of runners are welcome. Participants will hit the trail at 3 p.m.
Ugly Sweater Beer Mile: With three events packed into one awesome day of fun at the Railhouse Brewery in Aberdeen, North Carolina, this is one of the biggest beer mile events around. It will start at 2 p.m., Dec. 16. Sign up for all three and max out the fun. Kids are free to enter the Kid’s Shuttle Run and will get some swag to take home.
All American Marathon: Fort Bragg Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation, in conjunction with the City of Fayetteville presents the annual All American Marathon, the Mike to Mike Half Marathon and the All American 5K.
