Over 35 Basketball Tournament: Kick off your New Year’s resolution to stay active by participating in the Fort Bragg Over 35 Basketball Tournament, Jan. 18 to 21, at Hercules Fitness Center.
The event is open to all Department of Defense ID cardholders that are 35 years of age and older as of Nov. 16, 2017. Teams can register at Leisure Travel, located at the Reilly Road Mini Mall, until Friday. Cost is $80 per team. For more information, call 396-1218.
Combat Cross Country: Held at Smith Lake Recreation Area, Jan. 20, at 9 a.m. The course distance is approximately 11 miles. All competitors are required to carry a ruck weighing 35 pounds. The meet will involve both team and individual competition. Open to active-duty service members only.
The top five male and top five female competitors will be sent to compete in the Bataan Memorial Death March taking place March 25, 2018 in White Sands Missile Range, New Mexico to represent Fort Bragg.
Friday Fight Night: Come out for a night of fun at Sports USA. Anyone can participate, Jan. 19, at 7:30 p.m. Extensive boxing experience is not allowed. This is for fun. Advance tickets available at Sports USA. Open to the public. Cost is $10.
Yoga in the Garden: Cape Fear Botanical Garden and YMCA of the Sandhills have partnered together for Yoga in the Garden, Wednesday. Grab a yoga mat and rejuvenate at a peaceful yoga session in the beautiful Orangery at the Cape Fear Botanical Garden from 6 to 7 p.m., Jan. 25. Improve flexibility, build strength, ease tension and relax through posture and breathing techniques for beginners and experts alike. Bring a yoga mat, a water bottle and an open mind to enjoy this all-levels class.

Mardi Gras Miles 5K and Fun Run: Come out and show off your inner “King Rex” or Mardi Gras Joker at the campuses of St. John Paul II and St. Joseph of the Pines in Souther Pines, N.C., Feb. 3. Play4Kay 5K Run/Walk: Since 2007 the Physician Assistant Program has embarked on many activities to benefit the healthcare community of Fayetteville and beyond. As another year approaches, the PA Program has partnered with the Methodist University Women’s Basketball Program to host the Play4Kay Breast Cancer Awareness 5K Run, which will be held on Feb. 10, 2018 at 9:00 am. All American Marathon: Fort Bragg Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation, in conjunction with the City of Fayetteville presents the annual All American Marathon, the Mike to Mike Half Marathon and the All American 5K.
