Super Bowl Pub Run/Walk: Come join Fleet Feet Sports Runners Spot, Feb. 2 at 6:30 p.m. All Pub Runs are FREE, and everyone is welcome! Participants are welcome to purchase a bracelet for $12. This bracelet will cover your beer at Bright Light Brewing, Latitude 35 and post-run food at Latitude 35. There will be two routes for the run/walk 2.75 miles or 1.25 miles. Yoga in the Garden: Cape Fear Botanical Garden and YMCA of the Sandhills have partnered together for Yoga in the Garden, Wednesday. Grab a yoga mat and rejuvenate at a peaceful yoga session in the beautiful Orangery at the Cape Fear Botanical Garden from 6 to 7 p.m., Thursday. Improve flexibility, build strength, ease tension and relax through posture and breathing techniques for beginners and experts alike. Bring a yoga mat, a water bottle and an open mind to enjoy this all-levels class.

19th Annual Mid Pines Invitational: Join golfers Feb. 9 through 11 for a golfing tournament at the Mid Pines Golf Club in Southern Pines, N.C. The tournament offers two divisions, open and senior, and has become one of the most prestigious events to kick off the golfing season. To register, visit

Tai Chi for Health: Practice this flowing Eastern exercise with instructor Rich Martin while overlooking the garden every Tuesday at the Cape Fear Botanical Gardens from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Tai Chi is best practiced in loose, comfortable clothing. Dress for the weather as the class may be held outside. Bring a water bottle. All levels and walk-ins are available. Admission to the class is $17 for non garden members, $15 for garden members.

Mardi Gras Miles 5K and Fun Run: Come out and show off your inner “King Rex” or Mardi Gras Joker at the campuses of St. John Paul II and St. Joseph of the Pines in Souther Pines, N.C., Feb. 3. Play4Kay 5K Run/Walk: Since 2007 the Physician Assistant Program has embarked on many activities to benefit the healthcare community of Fayetteville and beyond. As another year approaches, the PA Program has partnered with the Methodist University Women’s Basketball Program to host the Play4Kay Breast Cancer Awareness 5K Run, which will be held on Feb. 10, at 9 a.m. Registration costs non MU students $25 and can be found at

All American Marathon: Fort Bragg Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation, in conjunction with the City of Fayetteville presents the annual All American Marathon, the Mike to Mike Half Marathon and the All American 5K.
