Stained-Glass Activity: Cape Fear Studios will be conducting a stained-glass activity at Chay Youth Activity Center on the Saturday and Feb. 14. Spaces are limited to the first 18 youth. Open to CYS Cardholders in grades 6-12. Cost is $20. Sign up is mandatory, in order to provide the required supplies for all attendees. Call 908-5011 to register.

SPORTS U.S.A. Valentine’s Day Market: Get your last-minute Valentine’s gifts. Treat yourself! Crafts, specialty items, art and more will be available for purchase. Food and beverage will be on sale throughout the event. This event is free and open to everyone. Interested in becoming a vendor? Contact Sports U.S.A. Indoor spaces cost $50 and includes a table and two chairs. Outdoor space costs $75 and you must provide your own tent. Market will be open Feb. 11, 12 to 5 p.m.

Midnight at the Masquerade: Join the in the fun and solve a crime with your meal on Feb. 16, at the Iron Mike Conference Center. Midnight at the Masquerade is a murder mystery dinner show. Attend and get this soiree back on track by solving the crime before the masked menace gets away! The event begins with hors d’oeuvres at 6 p.m. The bar also opens at 6 p.m. and a dinner buffet will be available at 6:30 p.m. Pre-paid reservations are required, and gratuity is not included. Seussical The Musical: Cape Fear Regional Theater brings to life all our favorite Dr. Seuss characters, including Horton the Elephant, The Cat in the Hat, Gertrude McFuzz, lazy Mayzie and a little boy with a big imagination — Jojo. These colorful characters will transport us from the Jungle of Nool to the Circus McGurkus to the invisible world of the Whos. Oh, the thinks we will think! The show will be open Thursday to Feb. 25. Petals and Pies: Gathered, who specialize in building community through ‘big-city’ inspired events, are collaborating with the award-winning Fayetteville Pie Company to bring you a special that is too sweet to miss. It’s an early season, flower bar that offers beautiful pink, deep reds, and limited edition Valentine’s packaging. Stars and Constellations: Winter nights are the premier time to view the night sky. Learn about constellations and other celestial objects and the folklore behind them. Bring telescopes and binoculars if you have them. Event will be held at Lake Rim Park after park operating hours Feb. 16, from 7 to 9 p.m. If the gate is closed, please wait and staff will let you in. Make sure to dress for the weather. TRAXXAS Monster Truck Tour: Witness the thunder! Handcrafted with Love: The galleries of historic downtown Seagrove, North Carolina, present the first annual Gallery Crawl & Open House in downtown Seagrove. A self-guided walking tour of the downtown galleries. On this Valentine’s weekend event, the craft shops of downtown will feature creatively romantic gifts of love. Pick up a walking map at one of the downtown shops and start your walking tour of each unique shop. Downtown Seagrove has a variety to offer visitors. Shop for pottery, both traditional and fine art pottery. In addition, there are galleries featuring wearable fiber art, handmade and collectible crafts, Friday to Saturday.

Mardi Gras by the Sea Festival and Parade: Gather along East Oak Island Drive at 1 p.m. for the Mardi Gras parade, Feb. 24. The festival will follow the parade, on the Middleton Park extension soccer field. Enjoy a variety of food vendors, live entertainment, crafts, pet parade, costume contest and more! No fee for parade entries for people or pets. To enter your golf cart or float in the parade, pick up forms at the Recreation Center. Prizes will be awarded for best float and most spirited float. Enter your dog in the Pet Costume Parade, the Pet Parade will leave from the soccer field and circle Middleton Park at 3 p.m. Awards will be presented for the “best dressed.”

Totally 80s Retro Ski Weekend: The town of Beech Mountain and Beech Mountain Resort combine on a righteously rad celebration of all things 1980s. This unparalleled experience includes ‘80s music nightly, retro skiing daily and throwback activities in between. Hop in our ski slope time machine to revisit the era of big hair, leg warmers and ski suits with shoulder pads. Enjoy a great musical lineup starting Feb. 22 with classic rockers DeCarlo, featuring Tommy DeCarlo, lead singer of the legendary rock band Boston. Feb. 23 brings The Spazmatics, best described as punk rock meets Revenge of the Nerds. Feb. 24’s headliner is Cassette Rewind, the South’s hottest 1980s tribute band.
