Army spouses are known for their resilient ways in which they flourish, no matter what the army hands to them. Heidi Crabtree is no different. Crabtree and her husband Lt. Col Crabtree have been married for over 20 years. Throughout the years she has stayed connected with her spouse through a healthy curiosity of the military and its history. This curiosity let Crabtree on a peculiar path to pageantry. After winning the All American North Carolina Pageant, she is moving on to compete this Oct for the national level crown.

All American pageant includes sections for all ages and sizes. The All American Lady section is for women 50 years and older, while the All American Classic Mrs. is for women who are 25 years and older, as well as size 16 and up.

While the All American Pageant may seem like any other pageant just by looks, there are vast dissimilarities. For example, the All American Pageant is scored differently than your typical pageant. The contestants are scored based off 50% from their interview, while the other 50% is based off of other typical pageant events such as evening gown and runway.

Crabtree emphasizes her platform as one of her primary motivations. Operation We Care sends care packages to troops down range. Crabtree also stressed the importance of Spouses in service. She became involved in these programs after writing for Fort Bliss Monitor, and Fort Leavenworth Lamp. This also led to her latest endeavor, which was a historical book that was recently published. Aside from being celebrated as a writer, she has also won awards for achievements as well.

Aside from her pageantry, she focuses on redecorating her house, while improving her body and mind through mindfulness, pilates, and yoga. She is currently reading the novel “Game of the crown” after the recent royal wedding peaked her interest. She also greatly enjoys traveling.

“Being a military spouse means that you travel a lot, and you are alone a lot,” said Heidi Crabtree. “while most assume it’s hard, it really makes you and your marriage a lot stronger.”You can find more information on Heidi on her facebook. Additionally, Crabtree will be attending the Fort Bragg 4th of July events wearing her crown and sash.
