More than 40 service members gathered July 28 at Fort Bragg’s Hedrick Stadium for an afternoon of football conditioning as part of the Athletes of Valor Program. Participants engaged in drills including Run-Shuffle-Run, sprints, 123 Back and Pro Agility Shuttle. Not only did Soldiers get to display their skills but also get educated about the benefits of the program. The Athletes of Valor program travels to a variety of military bases, assisting veterans who have an interest in playing college football. “Our job is to provide active duty military members the tools and resources to go play college sports if they chose to get out the military,” said Alex Stone, founder I CEO, Athletes of Valor. With this program, Soldiers can get help with being placed on a college team, support with internships and employment opportunities.
