Womack Army Medical Center is conducting a mass casualty training exercise Oct. 11 from noon to 4:30 p.m.

Womack’s medical and administrative staff will hone their emergency response and management skills with simulated incidents resulting in a massive influx of patient role players to the hospital.

Appointments at WAMC and its outlying clinics will not be affected by the exercise.

The local community can expect an increase of security operations and delays at the medical center entry control points and congestion on roadways near the hospital throughout the duration of the exercise.

The Emergency Department will be open and the Nurse Advice Line will be available by calling 1-800-TRICARE, option 1, if you require medical assistance during this time.
