High school football practice for public league schools in South Carolina begins Friday.  At Conway High, the Tigers will be minus one of their top players for the first couple of practices as DE Raiqwon O'Neal is visiting Rutgers Friday and Maryland Saturday.  He spent the earlier part of the week in The Bronx visiting family.   These visits follow one to USC last weekend and will be his final visits before he renders a decision on August 16th.

O'Neal was among the prospects invited to USC's Spurs Up gathering last Saturday and was joined on the visit by his mother and stepfather.  He  said he enjoyed the event and found time to talk with head coach Will Muschamp and defensive line coach Lance Thompson.

"There were telling me that they need me and they need me to stay home," O'Neal said.  "Coach Thompson said he's going to develop me into a great player and I can help early with them."

Asked how the visit impacted USC's position with him, O'Neal offered up his now standard response to a question regarding the Gamecocks' position with him:  "It's classified."

He said he's still considering many of the schools which have offered him like NC State, Indiana, Georgia Tech, Illinois, Wake Forest, West Virginia, Mississippi State, Michigan, Maryland, Penn State, Kentucky and Louisville.

"I'm open to all to be honest with you," O'Neal said.
