Julie McRee, 16th Military Police Brigade, senior Family readiness advisor, was presented with the 3rd Infantry Division Commanding General’s Marne Spirit Award at the annual Fort Stewart, Ga. installation volunteer recognition ceremony on April 17.

McRee, wife of Col. Chad B. McRee, 16th MP Bde. commander,  was recognized for her support to the 385th MP Bn.

McRee made history in receiving the award — she is the first volunteer to receive the prestigious award while being geographically located at a different installation.

FRG support from the brigade headquarters is one of the key components of the relationship the brigade has with its geographically dispersed battalions at Forts Stewart, Drum, N.Y. and Campbell, Ky.

In the memorandum nominating McRee for the award, Maj. Ryan Dickerson, 385th MP Bn. rear detachment commander wrote, “As an Army spouse, Mrs. McRee has exemplified every Army value that would define a Soldier. She is an invaluable and trusted member of my organization.  I am certain that if not for her dedication and selfless service, my unit, Soldiers and Families would not be what they are today.”

Fort Stewart organizations nominated their top volunteers to receive this award.
