Soldiers of the 10th Press Camp Headquarters deployed Saturday to Fort Dix, N.J., to support local and state authorities responding to relief efforts after Hurricane Sandy swept the East Coast.

The 10th PCH, on order, deploys anywhere in the United States to support federal, state and local agencies across the full spectrum of media operations. The unit will provide public affairs support, media facilitation and news coverage as part of Hurricane Sandy’s severe weather response force.

The 10th PCH’s capabilities include the ability to credential and badge media, create and send out video and print products for internal and external audiences, and coordinate and execute media engagements within 48 hours of receiving deployment orders.

“Like our fellow units here at Fort Bragg, the 10th PCH is prepared to deploy anywhere in the world on short notice. We are cognizant of the impact of Hurricane Sandy on our nation, and we are proud to be part of the great team assisting our fellow citizens,” said Lt. Col. David Gercken, commander, 10th PCH. “Our thoughts are with those who have been affected by this tragedy.”
