Sept. 2018 will mark the 100th anniversary of Fort Bragg’s existence. Here at the Paraglide, we have celebrated by running articles and information about different facets of life at Fort Bragg beginning with the first inhabitants of the area in January. We have focused on a particular point in time, and in September, we began to focus on decades of Fort Bragg history beginning with the 1910s.
Every edition of the Paraglide from September 2017 to September 2018 will include some information about the decade we are concentrating on for that month in the form of artifacts, researched history articles, photos and recipes.
The banner “Where to Go” on the front of every Paraglide can tell you on which page our 100th anniversary information can be found.
To help our readers follow along with the time in Fort Bragg’s history we are covering for the month, I have created a timeline.
Our hope is that readers will enjoy reading about the history of this military installation that we call “home.”
If you have any photos of Soldiers at Fort Bragg from the 1940s until the early 2000s that you would like to share with the Paraglide, we would love to publish them as a celebration of all of those who have been stationed here throughout the years. Please email the photos to
