Boom! The sound from a loud cannon started the 22nd annual Fort Bragg 10 Miler for 1,342 runners Nov. 3. With cold temperatures dipping below 55 degrees, participates ran a 10-mile route that included Reilly and Longstreet roads.

Several of the top winners of the annual event included Curtis Allen, Peter Koskey and Daniel Schlich.

“I just trained hard,” Koskey said. He is from Company A, Womack Army Medical Center. “I run at least four times a week, and I also ran with the Fort Bragg 10-Miler team.”

Koskey discussed his running routines, diets and previous races he ran prior to the 10-Miler.

When asked how he felt about winning he said “I am happy and tired” with laughter.

After the run, participants were able to get snacks such as bananas, apples and drinks before the awards ceremony that took place.
