Preparation for the Fort Bragg Garrison Holiday Social is underway. Scheduled for Dec. 6 from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Iron Mike Conference Center, the garrison workforce is invited to enjoy a team-gathering festivity with foods, prizes and games.

This year’s social calls for creative talents. Those who are crafty, festive and adventurous, or those who are simply interested in being artsy are invited to build a centerpiece to top the tables. Approximately 38 tables will be decorated with your creative centerpieces. Guests and attendees will have the opportunity to vote on the best centerpiece. The artist with the most votes will win a prize.

With the “Whoville” theme in mind, guests may experience interesting characters through the event such as the Grinch himself.

“This is the perfect time of year to stop, and look around and assess all this year has brought to our Fort Bragg Garrison, work family and home family,” said Justin Mitchell, Fort Bragg Garrison deputy commander. “Wow, what an amazing year, yes including two hurricanes. With that said, we come to the end of this season and need to celebrate closure as we prepare for the next season and what all this new beginning will bring.

“Celebrating with your work family is the perfect way to re-energize, laugh and enjoy the fruits of so very much labor. On Dec. 6, we will do just that as a garrison family. Thank you to each one of you for the hard work and professional service to our military members and their Families here at Fort Bragg. You make Fort Bragg awesome.”

The Garrison Holiday Social is open to the garrison workforce, service members assigned to garrison, and their families. The cost is $10. For more information about the event, contact your organization’s point of contact.
